The Power of the Seed: Achieving Peace in the World

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to Part 7 of our series, The Sower’s Seed. In this post, we continue to explore the scriptures of Daniel 2:20-22; 44-45, and Daniel 4:10-12; 13-17. We shift our focus to examine how this seed and its powerful message connect us as believers. We also look at how it transforms us.

In a world often marked by division, strife, and misunderstanding, the Word of God remains the ultimate source of power. It offers guidance and transformation. Through the seed of love that God planted in His Word, we are given the opportunity to be saved. We can also be reborn and changed. The power of the seed, the Word of God, is not just a message. It is the foundation of salvation and the key to overcoming hatred. It is also the force that unites us under God’s sovereign will. As we continue to look at the story of Nebuchadnezzar, we learn lessons from God’s judgment and mercy. We are reminded that true prosperity and salvation come only through knowing and living by His Word.

In our previous post, we explored the connection between the seed and the Church. Jesus Christ—the Seed—is at the heart of it all. He is the foundation upon which the Church stands, the key to building a loving and faithful community.

The mustard seed lies within and among us. God has planted this seed so that His message reaches everyone in the world. Through His love in our hearts, He empowers us to reach out to others, regardless of their identity. His message must be heard, and in sharing it, He has created an eternal bond among us. This bond is rooted in His love for all humanity. This message of the seed is meant to be shared globally. By doing so, Christ’s resurrection may bring peace to our hearts.

Without His Word, there can be no true peace. Regardless of what the world may say, peace cannot be attained without the Word of God—Achieving peace in the world. Without the love of God in our hearts, the peace we long for is unreachable. True peace comes only from a heart filled with God’s love. You cannot pursue peace while holding hatred in your heart. It is impossible.

Man, on his own, does not know how to love. Only through love can we come together and find peace. Love is the greatest force among us (Matthew 22:36-40). You cannot achieve what you want without the love of God in your heart. We may preach love and peace to the world. However, without love in our hearts, we cannot achieve the peace we seek. While the world may speak of peace and the church may preach love, true peace cannot be realized without love. It is love that unites enemies, not money, prosperity, or intellect.

It takes the Word of God which carries love and wisdom. It requires a heart that has been shaped and pruned by love to bring opposing sides to the table. Love is the true force that enables us to share and reconcile. It is not power or strength, but the love of God, that conquers the enemy. The real enemy lies within us—so how can we bring that enemy to the table without causing offense? The answer is simple: through love. Love is a powerful force in God’s Word, a tool that enables us to love one another without hate. It takes a strong person to truly love, for love is not just an action but a strength of character.

In this post, we’ll explore why love is the foundation of all things. We’ll also discuss why, through love, true peace can only be achieved. You cannot walk the path of peace while harbouring hatred. It is love that reunites us and brings peace to all.

Today, we’ll focus on the subject: “The Power of the Seed: Achieving Peace in the World.”

Scripture references:

Daniel 2:20-22

Then Daniel praised the God of heaven 20 and said: ‘Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.

Daniel 2:44-45

44 ‘In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure for ever. 45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands – a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. ‘The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.’

Daniel 4:10-12

10 These are the visions I saw while lying in bed: I looked, and there before me stood a tree in the middle of the land. Its height was enormous. 11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched the sky; it was visible to the ends of the earth. 12 Its leaves were beautiful, its fruit abundant, and on it was food for all. Under it the wild animals found shelter, and the birds lived in its branches; from it every creature was fed.

Daniel 4:13-17

13 ‘In the visions I saw while lying in bed, I looked, and there before me was a holy one, a messenger, coming down from heaven. 14 He called in a loud voice: “Cut down the tree and trim off its branches; strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the animals flee from under it and the birds from its branches. 15 But let the stump and its roots, bound with iron and bronze, remain in the ground, in the grass of the field. ‘“Let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let him live with the animals among the plants of the earth. 16 Let his mind be changed from that of a man and let him be given the mind of an animal, till seven times pass by for him. 17 ‘“The decision is announced by messengers, the holy ones declare the verdict, so that the living may know that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes and sets over them the lowliest of people.”

Declaring the Power of the Seed

In Daniel 4:13-17, we witness the profound power of the seed when the Holy One decree pronounces the fall of King Nebuchadnezzar’s mighty tree. During his reign, Nebuchadnezzar constructed a towering tree at the heart of his kingdom. It was visible to all corners of the earth. This massive tree symbolized his immense power and influence. His tree grew larger and stronger with each passing day, commanding the attention of the world. Yet, despite its grandeur, this tree—like the king himself—could not escape the inevitable fall. His vast reach and success, though remarkable, were brief, as his rise to prominence was ultimately short-lived.

The Holy One decreed the end of King Nebuchadnezzar’s reign as a consequence of his arrogance and pride. The divine messengers delivered this judgment, signalling the fall of his kingdom on earth. The Holy One is the seed of the woman foretold to crush the serpent’s head. He is the ultimate fulfilment of this promise. Jesus Christ is the rock cut without human hands. He is the rock that struck and shattered the iron and clay feet of the statue in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream (Daniel 2:32-35).

This rock broke the iron, clay, bronze, silver, and gold into pieces, signalling the end of earthly kingdoms. Jesus, through His power, divided the king’s people and commanded them to live beyond his dominion. He crushed the serpent’s power and, through His messengers, destroyed Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom. The tree symbolizing the king’s might was cut down, its branches trimmed, and its fruit scattered. The wild animals and birds that once dwelled under its shadow were freed. The stump and roots of the tree remained in the ground. This marked a moment of judgment yet offered a trace of hope.

What does Nebuchadnezzar represent in the Word of God?

If the tree of the mustard seed is likened to the tree of life, then Nebuchadnezzar’s tree can be seen as a symbol. It represents the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God is the Creator of all things. However, the enemy takes what God has created and perverts it. He builds his own version to serve his purposes. The devil is not a creator—he can only distort and manipulate what God has already made. His power comes from using humanity for his destructive purposes. To wreak havoc on earth, the enemy relies on man. Therefore, it becomes our responsibility to resist allowing the devil to use our bodies as instruments for his work. We must stand firm in our identity in Christ and refuse to let the enemy manipulate us.

In Genesis 2:8-9; 15-17, God commanded man not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Yet, man disobeyed and took from the tree, resulting in the development of self-awareness. The moment man ate the fruit, his nature was fundamentally changed. This act illustrates the importance of following God’s commandments—obedience is key to maintaining a strong walk with God. By touching the tree, man experienced a loss of innocence. He also became aware of his own nakedness in God’s presence. This awareness marked the beginning of a fallen state.

What made man see himself naked in the presence of God? It is God’s will for man to be created in His image and likeness. But when man disobeyed God and ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that likeness was lost. At that moment, God withdrew His presence from man, leaving him exposed—naked without the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God provides a unique protection and covering within us. This divine protection was lost when man fell in the Garden of Eden. As a result, man could no longer approach God in His infinite holiness. He was separated from the very presence that once gave him life and purpose.

Man became a living soul without the Spirit of God dwelling within him. This was the moment of man’s fall in the Garden of Eden. We lost our ability to intimately reach out to God as we once did. God’s presence within us was withdrawn. Left with only our body and soul, we were no longer complete as God intended. Originally, we were created to have a body, soul, and spirit, but the spirit of God departed when man sinned. As a result, we became disconnected from our Creator. We were no longer fully His children. Instead, we became separated from the life-giving presence of the Spirit.

In the presence of God, there is light, and this light falls on us. As we stand in God’s light, it reflects who we truly are. Yet, in God’s presence, man became aware of his nakedness. In Genesis 3:11, God asks, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” Our nakedness was not a result of physical exposure. Instead, it was due to the counterfeit covering we clothed ourselves with. It was an imitation from the enemy. We allowed the enemy’s spirit to influence our thoughts, and in doing so, he occupied our bodies. By accepting this false covering, our lives no longer mirrored the image of the Lord. Instead, we began living a counterfeit life, walking in the shadow of death. Christ came to restore the love that we had lost, replacing the emptiness with His divine love. We had been living under the umbrella of the enemy—the world—until Christ intervened.

We see the Holy One commanding His messengers to declare the verdict of His judgment to all people on the earth (v.17). God declared the end of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign before the king was even aware of it. In an instant, He dismantled his power by cutting down his tree. This act brought an end to the king’s rule in order to make way for His own reign. The Holy One interrupted Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams, awakening him before he could settle into the comfort of his kingdom. God changed the course of the king’s story before he could even establish himself. He took everything from Nebuchadnezzar, including his authority, to remind him that true power belongs to God alone.

Manifestation of the Power of the Seed

The power of the seed is vividly demonstrated in Daniel 4:28-33. It is through the strength of God’s Word that we are brought to a place of surrender. His Word has the ability to humble us, leading us to a point where we depend entirely on Him. The Word of God has the power to break us where we need breaking and to bring resurrection where it is needed. As Hebrews 4:12 tells us, the Word of the Lord is sharper than any two-edged sword. It is mighty and transformative. Through His Word, we are resurrected from the graves of our old lives. We step into the fullness of God’s kingdom.

The project was to dismantle King Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom. The mission of the Holy One was clear: to bring down everything the kingdom had built for itself. This was a straightforward task, carried out by the messengers of the Holy One. These messengers were charged with a greater mission. They were to build the Kingdom of God, as outlined in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). They were sent to all nations, proclaiming the coming of God’s kingdom. They taught obedience to His commandments, baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Their mission was to tear down the kingdom of darkness and make disciples of Jesus Christ. In doing so, they built the Kingdom of God through both association and dissociation. Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom, though powerful, was built on the very roots and stump of the Lord’s creation. The enemy cannot create anything; he only manipulates what God has already made for his own purposes.

You cannot live in the Kingdom of God with a worldly mindset. You cannot free yourself from the enemy’s grasp and continue thinking like the enemy. The purpose of building the Church is to bring all nations together in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three cannot be separated—they come together as one. This is why the tree of Nebuchadnezzar had to be cut down and its branches trimmed. Though the tree was removed from the surface of the earth, its stump and roots remained in the ground. This is a symbol of what was left behind after the judgment.

The Holy One commanded that the stump and roots be left in the ground, bound by iron and bronze (Daniel 4:16). The foundation was to remain untouched—confined and protected—while it soaked in the dew of Heaven. The messengers were instructed not to uproot the entire tree. They were to leave the foundation in the ground, allowing it to be nourished by God’s grace. Nothing is truly destroyed until we give up on it. Even in its brokenness, there is still hope for restoration in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is not all lost; there is always hope in the Lord. Likewise, the Church must be reborn from the foundation of its principles, renewed by God’s grace and purpose.

“The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules.” – Dan 4:26

The cutting down of the tree symbolized us as a nation in the eyes of the LORD. We had reached the heights of the heavens. However, our growth was rooted in worldly knowledge rather than the Word of God. We ascended quickly, yet our understanding of who God is, remained lacking. In His mercy, God had to humble us and bring us back up to inherit His kingdom. We must be reborn—pulled from our state of distress into His kingdom of peace. God needed to change us, but at the same time, He preserved us. This is why He commanded His messengers to cut down the tree. Yet, He told them to leave the stump and roots in the ground for preservation. We need His love to sustain us as His children. We rely on His mercy and grace to carry us forward—on the showers of blessings. Without His blessings, without the dew of Heaven, we cannot continue.

Cutting down the tree of the world brings down principalities. However, leaving the stump and roots in the ground offers the hope of resurrection. What remains in the ground has the potential to grow again, bringing restoration. This act shifts our course, bringing us peace. It removes the barriers that separate us from God and from our blessings. It changes our path and brings us into the light. The cutting of the tree not only removes curses but also brings salvation. In the same way, the cutting of the tree brought light to the world and salvation to mankind.

“At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant. But a man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last and is no more.” (Job 14:7-10)

“You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.” (Daniel 4:25

Restoration Power of the Seed

At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. (Dan 4:34

At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before. (Dan 4:36

It’s amazing how things change when we align ourselves with God. He is our Supreme Ruler, and understanding who God is leads to a deeper understanding of who we are. Nebuchadnezzar, too, reached a turning point where he finally lifted his eyes toward heaven. He accepted his true identity in the eyes of the LORD. He came to a place in his life where he acknowledged God’s sovereignty. He also recognized Him as the one true God.

Believe in the Word of God, who is Jesus Christ. In Him, we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28). Our mission is to reach out to everyone with the Word of God. We aim to sow seeds of greatness wherever we go—teaching and preaching to lost souls. The Word of God carries immense power. It heals the sick and opens the eyes of the blind. It enables the lame to walk. It also causes the deaf to hear. All our imperfections are made perfect through the Word of God. Let us believe in His Word, even if it seems small. Let us hold onto it with unwavering faith.

The days are changing, and so is the way the Word of God is being preached. There is a time coming when the Word of God will be made known to the world. This phase of time mirrors the moment when the Holy One stripped King Nebuchadnezzar of everything he had. He lost his power, his glory, and his kingdom. God brought him back to the beginning—reduced to a stump and root. One moment, the king was walking on the roof of his palace, admiring his power and greatness. The next moment, his authority was taken from him. He was driven away from people and left to live with the wild animals (Daniel 4:28-33)

The power of the seed brought salvation to the world. He is shifting His face. He changes from the Lion of the tribe of Judah to the Lamb who saved you and me. This Lamb saves us from the pit of the enemy. His name is the Messiah. The Lion of the tribe of Judah was His name when we needed Him in the wilderness. He rained manna upon us, but now, He will rain desire upon us (Exodus 16:1-4). We will long for the LORD until the end of this world (Genesis 3:16). The Lord your God will deliver you from the hands of the enemy. His Word will be your rescuer and your deliverer.

A time is coming. We will have no choice but to rely solely on our faith in the Word of God. This faith will help us survive the wickedness of this world. God gave us His Word, knowing the challenges that lay ahead. No matter how small we may regard it, His Word will guide us. It will protect us. It will lead and strengthen us in our walk with Him. It will be the rock of our salvation when that time comes. This rock will bring down all nations in the name of God. It will establish the nation God promised Abraham in Genesis 12:1-2. It is the rock that crushed the gold, silver, bronze, and clay into pieces (Daniel 2:44-45).

God sent His Son into the world to sow the seed of His love across all types of ground. His purpose was to save any ground that receives, nurtures, and grows it. Jesus likened our salvation to a mustard seed, sown among the other seeds in the world. In the Garden of Eden, God allowed many trees to grow from the ground. He planted the seed in His field—the world, not the church. He built His church from the very ground where the mustard seed was sown. Jesus scattered the seed of love so that every individual would have the opportunity to be saved. How you receive the Word of God is your choice. However, the resurrection of the Word rests in Christ alone. We live in Christ, and He lives in us. God saved the world before it ever fell into its brokenness by planting the seed of salvation.

The seed was planted so that we could rescue ourselves from the harms of this world. Take the Word of God and use it to transform your life. You cannot be saved if you do not know His Word. His Word must dwell within you for you to progress toward salvation. How can you rescue yourself if you don’t know who God is? To be saved by the Word of God, you must know the Word. Having faith alone is not enough to protect you from the enemy’s grip. You must know and live by the Word of God.

The Power of the Seed

The power of God’s Word lies within His Word itself. Sharing the message of love is one of the most powerful tools to combat hatred. Within the Word of God is His love, and His message carries that love with it. You cannot truly love God without reflecting His love in your life. You will naturally live out His love through you. True love cannot exist without God living in you. He must dwell in you and work through you. He must exhibit His attributes through your actions.

As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to demonstrate His love through our lives. This is the Word of God living in us. Our identity as His kingdom citizens is not just for personal prosperity. The Word of God is rich enough to make us truly prosperous in every way (Proverbs 10:22). You cannot make yourself rich unless God does it through His Word and blessing.

The Word of God possesses power, and in the name of love, power is unleashed. Love itself is a powerful force that brings societies together. It is powerful because it overlooks faults and shortcomings. You cannot love without consideration and forgiveness, for they go hand in hand with love. True love cannot exist without compassion. You must have and exercise compassion to forgive and forget. Love conquers all, offering us the opportunity to love without judgment. Love has the power to unite even those who hate each other, bringing them together in love.

Love creates a strong bond between people, and having love among us is a beautiful and powerful thing. It enables us to forgive and forget each other’s faults and shortcomings. Love is forgiving, and love brings peace. The power that love possesses is greater than our own. Love can overcome hatred, which often resides in our hearts. The power of love is greater than our thoughts, yet our thoughts are often less effective in bringing about change.

Conclusion:

The power of God’s Word is more than just a concept—it is alive and active. It works in us to bring healing, transformation, and reconciliation. The seed of love that God sowed through His Word is available to all. When we embrace it, we experience restoration, both personally and in our relationships with others. It’s through His Word that we find strength, forgiveness, and peace. Just as Nebuchadnezzar’s story shows us the sovereignty of God, we are called to recognize His authority in our lives. We need to surrender to His will, and allow His Word to take root and flourish within us. In doing so, we are empowered to live out His love and bring healing to a broken world.

Call to Action:

If you want to experience the transforming power of God’s Word in your life, start today. Seek to know Him through His Word. Let the seed of His love take root in your heart. Allow it to shape your thoughts. Let it influence your actions and relationships. Take the time to meditate on His promises, live out His teachings, and share His love with others. As you do, you’ll find peace and purpose. You’ll also be part of a movement that’s changing the world one heart at a time. Embrace the Word of God and watch as it changes everything.
